Troop 219 was one of the very first girls' troops in the nation! Girls were officially allowed to join Scouts BSA starting February 1, 2019. Our troop was founded immediately, and chose the number 219 to honor that historic month and year for girls in scouting.
If you are curious to see what the original troop looked like, check out the founders' website here.
The troop survived the challenge that was presented by the COVID pandemic in 2020. Troop 219 persevered and found ways to remain active. Meetings were held via zoom and scouts donned face masks and continued with their outdoor activities.
By 2021, scouts from 219 were starting to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. Our very first Eagle was awarded in February and the second in May of that year.
Since then, our troop has been proud to have more girls earning this rank.
